MPO Summit 2026 Industry Report

The headline deals get the attention: KKR’s $5.7B take-private of Integer, J&J’s plans for DePuy Synthes, a possible $1B-plus sale of Quasar Medical. But the transactions that actually set the price for a founder-owned supplier are happening underneath them, quietly, and mostly without a number attached. Since September, platforms have been buying one capability at a time: mechatronics, metal injection molding, embedded engineering, nearshore molding, coatings and testing. Every one of those buyers was a platform, and none of them disclosed what they paid.

Our post-show report from the MPO Summit 2026 in Salt Lake City covers what moved after the show. It looks at BD’s $19B tariff-relief agreement and what it suggests about the device tariff decision, what buyers pay a premium for and what they discount, and why the Utah cluster turned out to be the right place to hold the conversation. If you’ve ever wondered what a business like yours is actually worth right now, and to whom, this is a good place to start.
